Checked last.fm today. In my “Over All Top Artist” category. Ani DiFranco is down to #5. gave me like 60 of her songs. I listened through them and didn’t especially care for them (although I absolutely adore her verison of Amazing Grace). I deleted them all (except for Amazing Grace) cause of having over 60 GB in my iTunes library already and my hard drive is only 100 GB. Oh & mine and ‘s musical compatibility is now High, it was Very Low.
Speaking of different versions of Amazing Grace, I got the Dropkick Murphys’ version. It’s all instrumental. First half is just bagpipes. Now I currently only like 2 songs done on the bagpipes. Scotland the Brave and Amazing Grace. The second half of their version the rest of the instruments join in. Yes, Celtic punk band playing a traditional hymn. But they make it work. And I love it.
Also made a play list of songs from Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time that I already have in my music library.
