driving

Posted on August 21, 2002 by agd.tanya

got a car. Mine is in the shop. It was all high drama this weekend with vehicles.
We were preparing for our road trip to Little Rock. I was running around doing errands. I had got gasoline, done laundry, packed, and stopped @ my apt to find Ladye Grey’s shot record. I was headed to the Nextel shop to get a car charger for his cell phone, when my car died. It cranked back up and I got to the Nextel shop. I called my dad. He was at an antique tractor show. Mom told me that she would have him call me. I called my garage, but they are closed on Saturdays. So I drove to AutoZone. When I told them what was going on they said it possibly could be bad gas. So I put in water treatment & fuel injection cleaner. I drove to the library to do some geneology research. When I left my dad called. I got in the car & it died in the parking lot. I checked a few things under the hood. The transmission fluid it was fine. I took it back to AutoZone & they did their diagnostic check on it. The car came up with a code 42. Which was the ignition control computer. My dad drove in to put it in. Then him & mom left to go to Gulf Shores. The car died once the evening that dad fixed it. It died on the way to fighter practice. Then it died going to the interstate & again on the interstate. So Monday morning I took the car into the shop. They spent over 6 hours trying to find out what was wrong with the car. It would act up for them, but not long enough to find out what was wrong. They gave up & called TechNet. They gave them some ideas to test for. It turned out to be the electronic ignition control switch. The part was $233. Total was $398.
