Caught This was sent to me by a friend. LOL.
My coworkers have convinced me to go out with them Saturday night. We’ll see how the socialization goes. I’m trying to talk into going too, but I doubt she will. She’s got to work that day before. And it’s night shifters partying. We’ll probably close the place down.
Peanut Butter recall. And an alert from the CDC. My parents had this on their shelf at home. Either Peter Pan or Great Value (Walmart generic) lot # “2111” (lot # is inside or on the lid). Why do I now crave peanut butter?
Anyway last night I had to pay for my Karma the night before. Wed night I had 1 patient all night long. And she was very minimal maintenace for ICU (basically just an insulin drip with q 2 hour fingersticks). Tonight I was pulled. ER. Ran my feet off for 4 hours. Then back to ICU for 2 critical admits. The full vent, restraints, drips, multiple drugs, and the various and assorted sundry paperwork to go with them. I think I got it all done by the time I left. But knowing me I forgot something. I know I didn’t do a written report sheet. Thankfully the nurse I reported to doesn’t go by them. I just gave report from the Nursing H&P. I think I did fairly well considering I didn’t have my normal organized thoughts to refer to.
Oh and I managed to get a 20 gauge in a 12 year old with DKA & dehydration. I was impressed with myself that I got it. I was just “I’m only looking” but the AC was just sticking out beautifully. First hit. No digging. Slid right in.
Now understand with IV’s I’m a hand woman. I can find the fattest, juicyist veins in the hands. 18 gauge IV’s in the hand. A few in a thumb. I might occasionally chase a forearm, but I have a block on AC’s. I cannot get them. But I did with this kid. And he was a real trooper. By the time I had to go upstairs, he was sitting up and looking a lot more energetic.
