when entering the barrens or splintertree why are there horde members with skulls instead of levels. How do u get past without dieing resurrecting & repeating until you’ve managed to run out of their area?

First I’d have to ask how are you trying to enter the Barrens? From Ashenvale I am assuming. There is a passage due east of the road that is unguarded. Just head east around a hill or two.
The skull or Level ?? Means that the mob is at least 10 levels higher than you.
